Mountain Wedding

Mountain Wedding

As an associate, I make earnings from qualified purchases in this article.

I wasn’t one of those girls who dreamed of my wedding, but once I met the guy I knew I would marry, I started to dream.

Our dream was to have a simple mountain wedding in the mountains surrounding my home.

We visited a variety of mountain wedding locations, hoping against hope that we would find “the one”. And we did!

Alta Ski Lodge took the cake.

Not only was it “the one”, but it was also in our budget!

End of the wedding view of Alta Ski Lodge

Alta Ski Lodge is nestled up in the Wasatch Mountains. It was built a long time ago so it maintains that rustic ski vibe. The views of the mountain are unobstructed and magnificent!

As we do not live in Utah, we had to plan this wedding remotely. Which was perfectly easy. The lodge assigned us a wedding coordinator who was very responsive.

Wedding budget tip; send brides maids color swatches and let them buy a dress they love.

We kept it simple and under our budget.

My mom did our flowers and directed the decorating. My sister and friend did the photography. My friends sister did our video. I DJ’d and made mine and my brides maids jewelry. My sister made the cake and friends donated cupcakes. My brother MC’d. The catering was done through the lodge. And my brother-in-law officiated.

Dancing to my Amazing playlist

It was the most perfectly personal mountain wedding I could ever have asked for.

Patrick and I met in the small mountain town of West Yellowstone, Montana. We like to think that starting our relationship in the mountains meant we needed a mountain wedding. An inside wedding wouldn’t cut it!

Another reason we couldn’t have it inside. I have a huge family.

I always hear stories of how terrible brides are or how hard it is to plan a wedding. To be fair, at times it was very stressful, but for the most part, it was super easy.

Maybe because the lodge didn’t need a lot of decorating? Maybe planning a mountain wedding is typically easy anyways? I’ll never know because I never plan on getting married ever again!

One of the few things I was super picky about was my circle.

My perfect pine cone circle. Looks like a million bucks, but hardly costs a penny!

I didn’t want a thing that stood up and blocked the view of the mountain. I wanted a pine cone circle. My vision was that Patrick and I would stand in the circle as we did the ceremony to symbolize the foreverness of our marriage.

My mom picked up on this idea quickly, found the perfect pine cones, and made the most amazing pine cone circle.

This wedding was basically all laughs and fun
