Belize is one of the BEST PLACES EVER! It’s laid back, fun, and just so…. Caribbean. But as a born and raised mountain dweller I had a hard time knowing what to pack for Belize in November.

Was it hot? Cold? Hot with cold nights? Monsoon season? Rainy? Windy?

Turns out Belize is simply the most perfect place on the planet.

When I travel abroad, I always take my beautiful Osprey pack. I love it so much that I take it with me everywhere and it’s in most of my pictures, except any of these…. It packs just as much as I need and not a bit more, really helping me to not bring so much.

Patrick and I explored every part of Belize; the north and south, east and west… but our biggest frustrations were the demon sand flies. In this article, I will share with you what to pack for Belize. Obviously, your list might differ depending on the nature of your trip, but this should offer up a good guide.

What to pack for Belize: Clothes stuff

• Shorts
• Long, light weight pants
• Tank top
• T-shirt
• Long sleeved sun shirt
• Chacos
• Close toed shoes
• Socks
• Hat
• Bandanna
• Underwear
• Bra, if you wear one
• SWIM SUIT
• Rain jacket, just in case
• Light weight jacket (check the climate for the time of year you are going)

What to pack for Belize: Everything else

• Journal
• Sunglasses
• Chums
• Tooth brush
• Dr. Bronner’s Castille Soap (used for tooth paste, shampoo, body soap, etc)
• Book
• Fanny pack or Back pack
• A secure place for your valuables
• Hair ties, if you need them
• Hair brush
• Medications
• Head lamp
• Head phones
• Chapstick
• Tweezers?
• Nail Clippers?
• First aid kit
• Light weight camping towel

As you may have noticed, I did not add a hammock to this list of what to pack for Belize. Why? Because you might as well buy an awesome hammock there, at the Saturday market in San Ignacio, like I did. (Click here to read about that. Cuz it’s awesome.) Also, there are hammocks for use everywhere…

From my experience in Belize, you really don’t need to pack much.
